In the evening we went to The Ovens with 8 friends to have dinner and hear the music of our friend, John Barr with his back-up band. We were settling in after hugs and greetings around, when someone told me to get out quickly to catch the "Eastern Star" as she sailed by! It was so gorgeous, gentle breeze and quiet stillness, I lingered... Ken came out to tell me everyone was ordering dinner and "...what would you like..." In the moment, food wasn't high on my list of necessities!
Vindicated, our friend's granddaughter came out to take photos also as did her uncle and his date. All wanted photos of themselves with this backdrop, so I happily complied!
I could write a lengthy article about this wonderful evening, but I promise to spare you...
Ha ha! Don't think you can fave my photo with out a comment! with out being found out!! lol! I've just been continuing to read more comments on your thread! :-) Isn't this such a fabulous place :-) and this is fabulous, such blues contasting with the dark rocks. Last year while on holiday in Turkey we treated ourselves to a day on a sailing ship cruising round the coastal isalnds....swimming off the boat and a wonderful below decks lunch....thank for the memory!
@Cherrill (Are you referring to the fountain just now?) I had just begin the comment when our daughter let the boys Skype with us... ...and this is why I can't finish one thing without another serving of goodies laid on my plate! AND...
I think you know me well enough that I can't give a back pat without stopping for a hug as well!
@fjmom We love having a reason to go out there! The park is owned by the Chapin Family, all musicians as brother Harry, was. You never know who'll sit in on a set and entertain...it's got the whole package in my book!
Simply gorgeous shot. Glad you were able to capture it and with the rocky cliff in the composition it is a magnificent shot. How wonderful to have the opportunity.... and dining experience.
