Dockside by Weezilou

Dockside

Went for a late evening walk down at the dock as several tall ships and schooners were in. My photo efforts were something of a bust as I inched toward the edge for the angle I wanted... ...and yet what I really wanted was to be on a boat in the water looking in at the dock. Seemed a good time to edit it all to heck, and the map I used is of Nova Scotia when it covered the entire area that is now New Brunswick! How Nova Scotia ended up losing that large land mass might make for interesting reading (in my spare time, of course!)
Neat double exposure!

@pippie Thanks, Linda - it was so quiet down there on this semi-foggy night. Ken chatted with one sailor on the ship while I walked around taking photos... Another of those SO not southern California moments!

What a great idea using the map in that way and the vintage effect to really evoke the history of your setting. A fav.

@summerfield You have time to take a break from photography? Ken and I were having a discussion about books over dinner...and about my trouble finding/making the time anymore!~

@allie912 This is all done in OnOne Photo Effects...I got the map from the internet, and it's been uploaded as a texture that I can further manipulate...

Fabulous work of art! Just love the mood of this scene. Wish I were there hanging out at the pub or making nice with a couple of pirates.

@joysfocus The "pirate" Ken was chatting with was a nice looking man from Maine...young, I expect, studying to eventually ferry a tug boat! Who knew that required a college degree?! The pub in town is called "The Knot" and is quite popular... Would have been nice if only to have your company as we were out at the dock for the evening! Thanks, Joy...you know how I love your work! I guess we all develop our own styles! xo
