While perhaps the poorest image I've ever posted on this site, it has so many exhilarating and heart warming elements, it couldn't make me happier to share it! Consider this:
This was taken from the seat where I sat for the performance.
The singers, pianist and harpsichord were breath-taking to hear, and we could watch the pianist's hands and see the Maestro's face as he conducted. The singers deserve the accolades I hope they'll always receive! Not only were their voices out of this world but we could see every nuance of their portrayal on their faces.
The evening's ticket cost $20 and we were only a few blocks from home.
Even now, writing this, my heart swells with the happiness I felt all evening! This could NEVER have happened to us back in Southern California!
(Note to Barb: Sitting next to Nadine might have been the best I could have hoped for "back in the day"!) ♥
It's amazing all the cultural events to which you have access in this "small town" environment. You and Ken are lucky in deed to have discovered your own Shangri-la!
i'm not sure about the poorest image... i think it conveys the feeling so well. who cares about technicalities when the image will bring you forever memories!
