In Southern California, we refer to mornings this time of year as "May Grey", and coming up. "June Gloom". We're socked in until about 11AM when the skies clear and we can enjoy a beautiful rest of the day. I was so happy to see from the plane window what we all know is happening along the coast, and this perfect location afforded me a view of the jetty to exit Balboa, Big Corona and, the first small indentation, Little Corona. It was at the latter, with friends in April, that I photographed the pelican-covered rock, indicated here by a small red arrow. https://365project.org/Weezilou/album-excess/2017-04-01 I love to fly, and all the more fun when I can identify the places I see!
OK...that arrow is pretty teensy tiny....about 1 o'clock from the longest point of the jetty wall...
@gardenfolk You are too wonderful! Just remember that the best part of 365 is that , around the world, we're totally equidistant from one another...and close at that! I'm going to miss my Peaceable Kingdom, but I've got some many new things to photograph in the months ahead!
Wonderful Capture from the plane - I love to look out and see the land below and try to recognise it. Safe travels - not sure where you are just now but I will be seeing you in NS very soon!!
@Weezilou Every time we visit San Fransisco, one of our favorite experiences is watching the fog roll into the bay and burn off mid-morning. So fabulous to know that Southern California has that same phenomenon. Pretty great to see it from 20,000 feet above! Fav!
