Neighbourly

Ken and I began preparing for a supper tomorrow night after a concert with the Heimat Quartet at the Lunenburg Academy of Music (LAMP). We've met all the members on previous occasions, as well as the members of the Verona Quartet. After their concert on Sunday, I decided to invite everyone to our house on Wed evening and added some additional people; there'll be 19 of us : )

That preface leads to my picture that was taken in the afternoon when we decided to take a break from cooking and baking to go for a ride and take photos. It didn't take long to come across these raptors flying over the water and returning to the bare branches of the tree. They were at quite a distance and I did some serious cropping, but instead of sharing more beautiful trees, I decided to post the more challenging photo. It was interesting to see these two very different-looking birds sharing their dinner search together, and on this occasion, the picture probably will look better on black!
Very unusual to see two raptors perched so close together; and long enough for you to take a good shot. Well done.

So fortunate to capture two of them in the same picture. I wonder If they are a family. Beautiful.
