Long Before I had a Computer ...

...back when post processing meant you finished the piece by spraying a sealant on it!

I nearly never post my drawings or collage work, and to me, this isn't even very representative of the work I enjoyed most, which was mixed media. However, Mike Gifford @mikegifford was most helpful in laying out a step-by-step guide as to how he created a photo piece that included the pencil etching...all done with layers.

This, then, shows the route I took toward the art -with -photos that I like to create today. And it's a way of showing Mike why his piece so immediately caught my attention. You can see his here: http://365project.org/mikegifford/365/2016-01-08
I love the balance, texture, composition and toning colours. Thanks for sharing!

@mikegifford I think I have to tap your shoulder from this vantage point... when I asked, this is what I was talking about... Again thanks for the tip!

I would love for you to post more of your work! I'm an artist too and love to see others' work. I love this - it's beautiful!

Oh yes. As you can see I saw it :-) And I still think it's beautiful. Only now see/remember the resemblance but it makes me think about yesterday's copy/inspiration thread. Hope my unintentional 'copy' doen't offend you. Haha. My picture looks like an artist-challenge-photo of your original.

Very nice. Very interesting. I never would have guessed these were stones on a beach.

@mastermek My apologies for not noting you'd already been here! I was so focused on seeing that your photo looked like what I'd drawn, I had to share the two for you side by side! Thanks for your time to reply, and I'm quick pleased to be "the Artist" in the photo challenge ;)
