"This Little Light of Mine ..."

More of a marker photo for myself, I can't think of a single thing I'd have to say if anyone else posted it. The exciting news for us is that , after 40 years in this house, we'll have some decent lighting in the kitchen!

I have no idea what took us so long!

It sounds like a big achievement. We are not so good at changing things quickly either!

Well, guess what? I am really excited for you!! Loving those wires sticking out (even though, the one on the left appears to only have one!)....you will be so happy to have good lighting in your kitchen, you might just decide to do that for the rest of the house!

@panthora Yes, Ken and I made a tour and took notes this afternoon! (I sent you a note saying I was headed to bed...I lied...)

Ken think's it's a good idea there'll be a dimmer switch... it does look a little like overkill...a feast for the starving!

@Weezilou Yes, definitely do a dimmer switch!! I was actually thinking that it would be nice to have a couple of pendants over the island (or, counter....not familiar with your layout), but I did not want to complicate things. You might want to wire for them and install a switch, even if you don't have the actual fixtures yet...

@panthora Thanks for even considering this "miniature kitchen" might be any semblance of yours! In yesterdays photo with the plastic drapes, you can see how small it is! I hasten to add that a friend with this identical layout put a small ceiling fan in that center...might indeed be good to wire it. Will you be sending me a bill? OK...time to turn out ALL those lights! This dim bulb is getting dimmer and dimmer! ♥ :D

There's nothing like life in a well lit kitchen. You will be so happy with the change, Louise. I would definitely recommend a dimmer switch...more so to reduce the heat from extra lighting in the summer than the light itself. As far as I'm concerned, one can never have too much light in a house. :)

All the best with this. We have lived in the same house for al ong time, too and I feel for you.

We get comfortable in life and just keep putting it off until we are forced to do something. It will make such a big difference

Sometimes you go through these painful things, but the payoff is great!
