Having come home from a weekend with the grandsons, I have an untold number of photos and I had no time to look through them. Even now, back home, I should call it a day, but with each photo I look at, I think, "...just one more..." I'd posted one, but looked at a couple more, and decided to select this for the slot, taken a hour before I left the beach and photographed the silhouettes against the sunset.
It was a beautiful day, and you can guess how many photos I took in that hour as the sun was setting. I look forward to seeing them someday...
@pamknowler@boxplayer Ten minutes down the hill from where our daughter is living; easy to see why we love to visit! And that seagull wasn't about to move from his spot! I kept easing closer and closer and (thank heaven!) he held his ground!
@salza Thank you, Sally (again!) I have been commissioned by the owner of the funeral home in Lunenburg to come up with two panels for the chapel (hence my question) It's a tough one...he'd like "beach" (check) sunrise (I have many from Hawaii) or sunset (but I find they're too orange). This seagull probably wouldn't be fitting, and I want to stay away from people... real generic... When I post a beach, it may not be one I'd show him for consideration, but I'm amassing a quantity! And that's what spurred my comment...
Yes please! I know what you mean about having a wealth of photos and so much choice! We have just returned from a week in Barcelona....so how to choose which ones to post!! Well done of the commission!
I saw a movie yesterday with this dude in the leading role. He gently walks into a store, grabs a bag of chips and runs out! Brilliant. Like your photo.
I can definitely relate Louise. When you are in a place that captures your soul it is hard to stop taking photos. It's only afterwards that you realize the task that is now before you. This one is superb! Love everything about it. It is a picture of quiet, and it promotes a feeling a calm
@digitalrn Thank you Rick, for the words that tell me I'm on the right track! I need two wide images for a funeral-home chapel. I have many more without the gull... Can't wait to show them to Mike who's commissioned them! (And ohmyyes! I'm on overload looking through them all! Hardly a bummer in the lot! WHAT to do with them all!)
@salza I wouldn't have even thought to look for it there! Thanks, Sally...that was a nice opening on the morning! (It was you who'd commented on the first photo from this beach that I posted...perhaps I made the right choice to switch it out for this! Thanks, then for being with me throughout the process!
@photographycrazy Thanks, Bill! THIS is an area (just south of Santa Barbara) with a beautiful, unobstructed view to the mountains. I've managed to get a couple of beautiful full-moon-rises there, but no time this afternoon to "run up for a picture"! ha! Think 5 o'clock traffic on the LA freeways!
Love the simplicity of the shot and the reflections in the wet sand.
@soboy5 Danny, what kind words! If my friends here hadn't pointed me in that direction, I wouldn't have known this slid in to place on the TT!
Congrats on the TT! :)
