He Shall Have Music Wherever He Goes ...

As we walked through the old Mexican barrio district in downtown LA, I heard lovely music being played, and was charmed by this man who had clearly made his own harp! Man is driven to make music, I believe, and will find a way if need be. Case in point.
Just love this capture and title :) Hope he has a little (well, big!) cart to carry his harp around :) fav

How wonderful to be able to create beautiful music on a home made instrument! I would love to have a musical gift! Great capture! Fav!

OMG, what a shot and what an artist to have made his own harp.... and plays it. Not the easiest instrument to learn and play, I'm sure. Know any harp teachers around????

Clever fellow, what was the sound like? Love the shot, especially his 'waddya doing?' expression.

He doesn't look so happy but should be! It would be quite heavy but might sound really wonderful!

That's beautiful! La Cucaracha on a harp must sound very soothing.

@stray_shooter ...only you, Ron, would come up with that!

Stopped in several beach cities on our way back north...had another *amazing* Italian lunch in Carlsbad. Didn't visit anyone...weather too yucky, but I had to revisit SC and managed 3 photos before the pain pelted us again! I'm not through trying...

@stray_shooter well...yes... the rain's a pain ... and no one feels it more than my camera!

@Weezilou Speaking of which....for my photo class this evening we were supposed to capture a shot from an unusual angle. I had put it off, so was out in the back yard frantically trying to get such a shot this afternoon. The rain was coming down and I was attempting to get a shot of a sego palm with droplets on it, but it came out with real odd focus patterns on it. The center was fuzzy, but the droplets on the fronds were clear as could be, but they were all at the same depth. We couldn't figure out what was going on when it suddenly dawned on me that the lens had gotten wet in the rain and there was a big splotch of water right in the middle of the lens. Duh. I'm to attempt again tomorrow, but will probably have to manually have to put some droplets on it......hopefully!

@stray_shooter Funny how that happens! I was taking pictures and suddenly they became less and less definitive! So this morning, in the sunshine, I was photogrpahing the mini roses all covered with yesterday's rain drops. Haven't checked to see if I have anything...and I didn't strive for an unusual angle...

Such an enterprising soul to make his own harp! Well done to him - and to you for capturing the mood so wonderfully.
