Thank you all for the nice comments; "slowing down" has never been my style! Even less so, "just sitting and relaxing". I slept a bit later this morning, made a coffee with a lot of milk (as the doctor had requested I cut back), and sat out in the morning sun; it was a gorgeous day.
As has happened in the past, the hummingbird came nearby, checking out the trellis before hovering right in front of my face! It's too good a moment to spoil it in any way but to take her in as she was, me! I think she may already have a nest, so I'll be watching for where she goes. I was also able to photograph the male, but, while he came around frequently, he would stay behind the feeder, mostly blocking my view. I did catch a few photos showing his bright red neck, but clearly his 3 gram body harbors a wily little brain!
So good to see you are out in the garden relaxing - even though I know that's very difficult for you! How I eoulf have lived to see the hummer right up close to your face ' what a shot that would have been! Lol! Big hug xx
@pamknowler (got it!) AND...that's just what I needed! I needed someone to take that photo when I didn't want to disturb the moment! (The last time she came up to my face was when I was in the wheelchair and sitting at the back door a couple years ago! ...she also flew into the kitchen, and she came in again to check out my bouquet of flowers! Fearless!!!)
@salza Thanks, Sally...maybe I should have started doing this long ago! It is pretty amazing that those little hummers can be so fearless! Ken says it's a good thing they're not any bigger or they could become dangerous!
@Weezilou Here's the plan- you set up your camera on the tripod focused on your face sitting in the chair ( Ken will be very useful here). Then with the remote control in your hand you sit and wait for a miracle and the darling little hummer will fly up to your face again. Hey presto you have your shot! This might take a long time and indeed might never happen again but you will be resting as per doctors orders! Easy! Lol!
So pleased to hear you are resting - at least having a humming bird around you should keep you still - so magical :) I like Pam's @pamknowler idea - think you should do it!!
Very nice and so much of it is the morning light. Love it. The universe has decided you need to learn about the importance of patience, a hard lesson, indeed. Every good thing takes time.
a beautiful rose
Beautiful lighting on those nice roses,
