Twice a year, the setting sun aligns perfectly with Vancouver International Airport's runways, so a friend and I headed over there to see what we could get.
We discovered two things -- firstly, that almost all the large planes use the north runway (and we were at the south runway), and secondly, that the hills of Vancouver Island get in the way!
However, it was a fantastic sunset, and the thin layers of cloud continued to glow with wonderful colour even after the sun had disappeared. This is my favourite shot of the evening.
