Today was my official move into my new place!! Now the fun part - unpacking; can't wait to rip those boxes and have everything placed around my room....or just push them all to one side and unbox when the need arrives ¦)
@shanne - That would be a messy shot, I guarantee you; my boxes are not neatly packed at all! Did think about it though, but stood and stared for 5mins and decided against it.
@carmel - Lol, that certainly shouldn't be chucked if it's been 10yrs in hiding - could fetch a lot of money hehe. I literally chucked away 5% of my belongings whilst moving from my previous place....well, and my sister's claimed 25% from me as well.
@carmel if it's not wanted for 10 years it's not needed! When we moved into my grandparents' house, we ended up clearing out the outhouses, and burning what looked like packing cases of rubbish, to find things that had been packed by the army back in 1939 melting on the fire! (They'd been on leave when WWII was declared, but stationed abroad, the British Army packed it all up and sent it home) The only things that go into the roof space here are Christmas decorations
@carmel I'm with you too. I tried to shed a lot on my last 3 moves, but I'm hopeless. There's too much sentimentality in those boxes. Once you open them up you hear yourself saying, "Well, I can't get rid of THAT." Ade, great street and love the title.
I do not envy anyone who has to move. I have begun cleaning out boxes from the attic, because when the time comes, I really dread the thought of moving it all, so the less I keep, the less I must move. Good luck getting settled in Ade.
i used to move every 8 or 9 months to avoid having to do serious cleaning... kept the junk to a minimum... now that i've been living in one place for the last 7 years, i've reverted to my packrat tendencies!
After making my last move 7 years ago, I decided I'm going to die in this place rather than take on another move! Good luck - get rid of as much stuff as you can!
Cool candid shot! Unpacking is a chore, but I like getting it all done as soon as I can. Things I hate to do, I do them very fast. XD Good luck with the boxes! 8)
