Both make for intriguing images, but i like the composition best in this one with your choice of DOF and the foreground clarity.

@taffy Oh cool thanks for your input, is it that this one makes you want to see what is behind whereas the other one stops you?

@adi314 I think two reasons...First, I like having clarity in the foreground with the remaining repeating shapes disappearing into the distance. Second, in the version with blur in the foreground, it didn't work for me (personal choice really, not a design principle) just because it felt like the blur didn't frame the one in focus in any particular pattern. I hope that makes sense.

I really like this one too. So much of the enjoyment is in following the pattern backwards, in addition to the texture of the near one.
