I found the bookclub's abstract challenge of expressing moods or feelings to be particularly difficult. After an emotional week, I chose to use the bits and pieces that remain behind to express endings.
I find this interesting, not just because of the variety of colours and textures involved, but mostly because I can't quite tell what it is. Bits of it look familiar but with the shallow depth of field the whole is a mystery (although I've just worked out that there is a winged beetle involved?). I like the lighting too.
@spookydirt Thank you. Youngest son used to collect bugs. The lacy wings belong to a cicada, the butterfly wings are from a Monarch, and the little bits of bones I found walking one day in the windbreak.
I think you did a fantastic job expressing this!I love the combination of items.I see endings, and death...but in a spiritual way. These items are particularly symbolic of Mexicos Day of the Dead.A day to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. The Mexican people believe that Monarch butterflies carry the souls of their family members who have passed on.A fav for me.This is special.
