The cottonwoods along the river are still covered with vibrant foliage, so I anticipated I would find the same thing along Squaw Creek. My mother had warned me that the cottonwoods out here are quick to drop their leaves, and, sadly, she was right. Most of the trees were bare, and the colors I had enjoyed just a few weeks ago have been replaced by the lines of bare trees and branches. I'm glad this one still had some leaves to accent the barn, but with winds forecast for the weekend I'm sure it's bare now.
