It appears last night was a one-night stand. Where there were several hundred visiting the yard one night, tonight there were only several dozen. They settled in small groups of 4-6, and, as they came in with the setting sun, they were a bit harder to spot in the trees. It was a much calmer viewing experience, as instead of enjoying the overwhelming number of butterflies, I watched those that arrived float and soar in from the field and around the branches. Such an amazingly beautiful butterfly.
