The backyard was filled with the raucous sounds of these birds this afternoon. Though they are much, much noisier than their red-wing cousins, I do enjoy having them visit as I love seeing their brilliant yellow markings. Their arrival, like so many of the birds this year, seems a bit ahead of schedule, but it's so nice that they have returned.
