downey nest

Sons have been cleaning out dead trees in the windbreaks. Tonight they downed a tall tree that threatened a roof. It had a bird hole, and after it fell you could see how the woodpeckers had constructed their home in the trunk. Thankfully they left this smaller trunk, also with a hole, which was quickly occupied by a little downey.
