Eldest has been home riding out the pandemic. This summer he cleared dead wood out of the windbreaks, making several nice woodpiles. Today I left a note telling him he could have a go at cleaning one of the rooms in the barn. Unfortunately, husband saw the note, and what could have been a little project turned into a total clean out. We are allowed to burn our trash here, so along with cleaning came burning. There was no wind, and the burning was contained, until bed time when youngest looked out and one of the woodpiles from summer was ablaze. Thankfully the weather has warmed, and we were able to get the hoses on two hydrants and get it put out, but not before it had burned most of the logs in the woodpile. I restacked the charred logs after they cooled. Now I have a charred log pile!
