cattle push

Wendy challenged me to try a high contrast shot with black angus cattle on snow. The weather wasn't particularly cooperative as it was cloudy, cold and windy, and I'm not particularly happy with this composition, as I wish I could have gotten into the bull pasture, but I think this is close to meeting the challenge.
Wendy @farmreporter I did try to get the black angus on snow image, but the cows are on cornstalks and the bulls were all gathered by the windmill and too far away to get to. This curious group did come to the fenceline where there was some drifted snow, and though I'm not happy with the composition, I do see the appeal of black cattle on snow.

Oh! I didn't see the alternate challenge until I was looking for the particulars of this one. I may give it a go later if I have time.

You did a great job with these heifers! You managed to get details with their eyes, which was the one aspect I was really looking for since eyes tend to disappear into black coats.
Well done and A FAV!
