Wow... I dunno if these are anything like the ones in France but I'd be running the other way haha Every time we go to the south of France my in-laws talk about the Sanglier and how they'll rip you a new one if you get too close. I am always terrified when we go for walks in the woods.
@m9f9l When they are young some of them have stripes. I will find a photo for you.
@marie65 Nope not inner city but only about 15 minutes drive from the inner city. Most people that live here wouldnt even know these things are that close to their homes.
@httpgeffed It was actually. Normally it is not like that. Normally they are running, I am chasing and lots of noise and crashing through the bush. These guys didnt know I was there too back it was really dark or I would of got some really nice crisp shots.
@tigerdreamer Definitely. They get really cranky when you grab them by the back legs. ;-)
@jocelynphotography Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It is greatly appreciated and no problem about the comments. I am always keen to share my knowledge especially when it comes to lighting.
@breigh I would say they are the same. Cranky tough little buggers. They can be really scary when you are chasing them through thick scrub where you cant see them but you can hear them... It makes you feel alive... ;-)
@kittikat ha ha ha... Very true, they can cause a lot of damage.
@breigh@agima - come across a few of these in my trekking days in Townsville.... and yeah, when you cannot see them but only hear them, it does get the heart rate up! Went chasing wild pigs up the Sepik with some local fellas one time using spears, arrows and knives and dogs. That was a cacophony of sounds!
@bobfoto@agima My in-laws own a large property on the side of a mountain in the Langudoc region in France. They have them on their property but I've still not seen one. We do see the evidence of them, though (digging up flower bulbs and eating them, stuff like that) They give hunters permission to hunt on their land during hunting season and when we were there last year we used to hear them. Tons of dogs barking, bells ringing and gun shots. They get meat in exchange for the use of the property, so I DID get to see them in that way haha tasty!
I spend a lot of time in the bush and you would be surprised what lives over our backfences... You just need to know when and where to look.
