Went for a nice drive this afternoon to seek out this old, abandoned building nestled in the woods we had spotted some time ago and fell in love with. Unfortunately, we found access quite difficult due to the fact it was on private property. (Would have tried getting close anyway if it weren't for the over-abundance of poison oak--and I don't even like to look at that stuff I'm so allergic!)
I could see so much potential here, but when it came right down to it, got a little frustrated as the subject was difficult to isolate because of all the trees. So in the end, I opted to post this rather over-the-top, close-up HDR grunge shot that is quite different than what I had in mind. Kinda out there, but I liked it in the end.
(Hmmm... Looks like maybe I should sign up for "Ace" some time soon as I spend more time deciding which to post some days than I actually do processing the things!)
Very cool shot, it turned out great! And I feel your pain with picking photos, I am always posting links because I have a hard time choosing which photo to post here. I often narrow it down and then make my husband decide.
This is a fun shot! I have to say, though, that I also prefer the one on Flickr. It has so much detail, but remains soft and dreamy. Very fairy tale like. I hope the gnomes see to it that the poison oak doesn't get too out of hand.
