St. John's Cathedral

Lafayette, LA - Site donated by Jean Mouton (founder of Lafayette) in 1821. Dutch Romanesque church built in 1916.
The church is all but vacant at night, but the lights remain on. The kids and I toured the grounds undisturbed.
Within the minute after this photo was taken, the church bells began to toll -- thunderous, melodic -- marking another hour of presidence.
