St. Petersburg Pier

This is a well known landmark of St. Petersburg...been around since I was a kid, and has gotten a colorful makeover through the years. I definitely wanted to get a picture of this, so this is one of the other places my sister and I visited for my photo shoot. My sister has informed me that they are going to tear this down and build another. I think that is just sad. I love this place. I got bit by a pelican on the nose here when I was a teenager...

Oh, and let me just say that the reason I have not commented on anyone's photos whilst on vacation is because the very expensive hotel suite that we booked did NOT offer free WiFi! What is up with THAT? I thought that was a standard amenity nowadays. Kind of like free HBO. But that's not even the most ridiculous...she looked at one hotel on the beach that actually made you PAY $10 a day just to PARK!!! Seriously, that's just sad...

**PUMPKIN TIME!!! More catching up tomorrow!

@cjwhite Thanx Carolyn! Will be catching up soon! ;)

@1invisiblegrl I know what you mean...it was daunting just thinking about all that I missed...that's why I didn't even touch the computer Sunday.

Been missing you so much, Miss Paula! I'm glad you had a lovely vacation with your sister! Looking forward to catching up with you. About the Wi-'Fi - it was $15.99 a night at the hotel we stayed in on our anniversary! And that was not a cheap hotel. We paid $40 to park one night...yes $40!

@lauriehiggins Wow, I guess I should stop complaining...that truly IS sad! Thanx, I missed my 365 friends as well!

@5unflow3r @espyetta I know, right? It's already been revamped! No tearing down necessary!

Boo to that expensive hotel suite! That is why i prefer cafes over hotel lobbies. Cafes smell good with free wifi. lol. Beautiful vacation pix by the way! and uh, welcome back! =))

Like the shot, I am with you on not tearing down something like this, instead of renovating. In Philly, I paid 250.00 a night, but still had to pay for inter-net and 30.00 a day parking with only one in and out privilege. Really!

I love how the more expensive the hotel they more they charge for things that are standard at the Comfort Inn.

@sarasdadandmom next time you are in Philly, I will give you a few recommendations for smaller more local hotels that are really nice expreiences and half the price.

@brumbe Hearing all these stories made me realize the charges weren't that bad, but still... @sarasdadandmom

Your vacation photo are wonderful!
