The 'Man with hat' by Zigz

I visit our town hall today amongst other places to view various art works including paintings, sculpturing, textiles, ceramics & photography.

This is part of a weeks exhibition called the 'Cloth Road Arts' held in halls & people's house showing the local artists.

'The Cloth Road' is the notional road that links the various former cloth weaving communities of West Wiltshire.

I have called this painting quite simply the 'Man with Hat' as I couldn't find a title against it, however, there was a signature underneath the painting by someone called Zigz, again there was no information.

Is this a self portrait? or one of his friends? or someone who commissioned it? who knows?
