Words cannot describe how those who have fought & fallen in many conflicts to give us freedom explain their experience of the horror of war...for them it must feel that they have moments when they feel totally alone..
My Grandfather fought in the First World War and would not talk about it as it affected him so much.. he was a gentle man... for him the horror that he saw caused him to have moments of aloneliness..
This single poppy reminds me of his 'solitary' moments as well as many others who have walked the path he trod...
