Loggerheads

Today has been a better day with a few minutes of sunshine in the morning but becoming overcast this afternoon.

My shot is from a walk taken in the woodland surrounding the village of Erlestoke.

As you can see the loggers have been at hard at work.

Your title made me wonder where the word loggerheads originates

@suesouthwood Thank you for your comment. I'm not sure whether the original meaning originates but here is a couple of the definitions -
in conflict with someone; having reached an impasse (about something), strongly disagreeing, engaged in a quarrel or dispute.
This term may have come from some earlier meaning of loggerhead, referring either to a blockhead or stupid person, or to a long-handled iron poker with a bulb-shaped end that was heated in the fire and used to melt pitch.
