Ruinations

This is part of the 'ruins' of Kilmersdon lodges, part of the Ammerdown House, Kilmersdon Estate, near Radstock.

The pair of lodges, gate piers and gates, associated with Ammerdown House, were built in 1788–94 by James Wyatt, and are Grade II listed buildings and on the English Heritage Heritage at Risk register.

The lodges were the principle entrance to the estate and apparently haven’t been used since the mid 20th century.

Such a shame.Hope they get restored soon.
