My friend Karen and I continued explorations of Melbourne today, with almost a full day to get around the sites. We're quite pleased with the 8 location we managed to visit :)
(Top row L-R)
1. Victoria Law School - former Public Records office. Very grand plaster work.
2. Vic. Law School - former land titles office (cog used to secure shutters on the vaults);
3. Myer Mural Hall- grand dining room in top floor of department store, with 10 murals depicting people from fashion and the arts.
4. Melbourne Town Hall - view from portico (no photos allowed inside)
(Bottom row, L-R)
5. Origin (energy company) roof garden - we stopped here for a picnic!
6. Donkeywheel House - philanthropy hub and galleries. This was one of the exhibits in a 'art using light' competition
7. Mission to Seafarers - a stained glass window from their lovely chapel
8. Athenaeum Theatre and historic library - this is one of the few times you can take pictures inside a theatre! Great ceiling :)
(For once with a collage, the magnifier actually magnifies! some of the pics are best viewed big).
