We had a rather odd day today. It's our anniversary (partner and I have been together 11 years). We decided to try something new and went geocaching (a kind of treasure hunt with GPS coordinates as the main clues). After four attempts and not finding anything, we gave up - clearly it's not the right hobby for us!
We did manage to go out for lunch and dinner though, so at least that worked out :) I spotted this pretty purple flower on our wanderings and decided to use it for today's pic.
i love this flower for its looks and colour. i don't know that it is either. your calendar view is looking so rainbow-ish! sorry i've not made my way to australia with my commenting. heavens, i just looked at your profile on the upper right and see you are following 507 people. i hope you're not commenting on all of them everyday. i only have a dozen or so people and i can hardly cope!
Congrats on your anniversary! You should see if there are any letterboxes near you instead. Letterboxers are better at specifying where to look and you don't even need a gps! (Bring an ink pad and paper for the stamps inside though.)
It kind of looks like a Morning Glory to me. I love the picture and for description. I've read about geocaching and thought about trying it but never made time yet. I have so much fun searching out picture ideas
I've always called it "Myrtle" but others call it Periwinkle. It's a lovely flower and nice shot! Geocaching sounds like a lot of fun and I'm surprised that after finding all those elephants you couldn't find the treasure, but then another part of me is not surprised. For all the raves I've heard about GPS, I've also heard complaints, so maybe it was more the GPS than your capabilities! Congratulations on your anniversary and best wishes for many more happy years together!
11 years! that's awesome! i have to say geocaching sounds interesting but if someone takes whatever's there and doesn't put it back then what's the point?! haha. beautiful pic though!
Lovely flower - we call it vinca or periwinkle. Grows all over the side of my garden, and as it's prettier than weeds I'm encouraging it! (I have both green and variegated leaves). 11 years? Worth celebrating, sounds as if you found something good anyway :)
Concrats to you celebration. Lovely capture of this beautiful Vinca major . Those plants I also have in my garden.
Take all pic`s you can of fungus, I`m sure you`ll do fine and we don`t compare.
