St Patrick's Cathedral by alia_801

St Patrick's Cathedral

We visited the cathedral, which dates from at least the 13th Century. The most striking feature was these lovely windows.

Fun fact: Jonathan Swift, who wrote Gulliver's Travels was Dean of the cathedral for many years.

I usually like exploring cathedrals for the calm and stillness, but recently I'm noticing more people talking loudly - or even shouting- running around, and a complete lack of calm 😟
Fav. Beautiful design. Good shot.

Stained glass is always beautiful and tricky to get a photo that does it justice - you did a great job! This is so pretty!

What beautiful windows and what a shame about the people. But culturally people understand churches and cathedrals less and less. They don't know what reverence is and no one seems to keep tabs on how loud children or adults get! I suppose it will come down to a matter of timing- going at inconvenient times because you know no one else will be there. Anyway! Beautiful shot!
