Sun Loong by alia_801

Sun Loong

Sun Loong means 'New Dragon' - Sun Loong was the replacement for Loong, a dragon donated to the city of Bendigo by Chinese members of the community. The dragon led the Easter Parade for almost 100 years before being replaced by Sun Loong, who is the longest Imperial dragon in the World, and has more than 90000 mirrors along his scales. He lives in the Golden Dragon museum, where he is coiled around the spiral walls, which go up three floors! Sun Loong will be getting a new dragon friend in time for the 2019 parade.
Love the lighting in this shot. So interesting to read about. What an amazing amount of work in these. I'd love to see the entire thing.

These "costumes" are so impressive and I'm always amazed at how coordinated the people who operate them are- they always make the dragons look so life-like.
