Poem in Your Pocket Day by allie912

Poem in Your Pocket Day

April is National Poetry Month and today is "Put a poem in your pocket." A teacher made me this apron, and I have filled the pockets with poems to read and share. To learn more about this day of celebration, follow this link:

Keep A Poem In Your Pocket
By Beatrice Schenk de Regniers
Keep a poem in your pocket
And a picture in your head
And you’ll never feel lonely
At night when you’re in bed.

The little poem will sing to you
The little picture bring to you
A dozen dreams to dance to you
At night when you’re in bed.

So - -
Keep a picture in your pocket
And a poem in your head
And you’ll never feel lonely
At night when you’re in bed.
This is a great shot, Allison, to commemorate this day! I have cut out the pockets from old jeans and am going to give them to my kids this morning and ask them to find a poem to copy and put in their pocket ...

Perfect choice for today. Now,if yo will excuse me, I have to run and find a poem before our librarian asks me to share my poem...:-D

I love this photo. I love how you do your "job". Schools did not have librarians like you when I was in a student.
