And apparently even the mothers gave up on them. These are art projects left unfinished by 4th graders. I think they have potential, but I guess the artists had higher standards than I do.
The next day I saw this cartoon online: http://www.arcamax.com/newspics/11/1193/119375.gif
The Squirrel Country Club is for real - Go to the State Capitol grounds, it's at the fountain in the Southwest corner of the grounds! Really. I just took several photos and put them in a collage.
If you hadn't said they were by kids, I'd have suspected some work by an adult, creative artist! If I recall your own appreciation for ceramics, I know you know what I mean!
About leaving the pets behind, yes, we have 3 cats that are "ours", a feral who counts on us daily, asst neighborhood visitors who dine at our doorstep & a canary I caught in our yard over 10 years ago! On top of that, we fly to Canada! Let's say, our caregiver makes a nice salary off us each year!
To answer your other question, we have blue jays, oxen, deer, friends pets, and a very special cat named Dill who spends a great deal of time at my house waiting for treats and letting me photograph him. You'll appreciate his name when I tell you, it's actually "Charles Baker Harris" who says, "...but my friends call me Dill...", from "To Kill a Mockingbird"! How great is that! (I can hardly wait to see him again...he's a beauty!)
funny cartoon...so funny you should use that title. You just got me thinking about my mother with the last photo (actually the one chronologically after this one), and then you use an expression my mother used all the time! (I lost my mother 10 years ago, and I still think about her often.)
