I'm quite proud of this picture, not because of the subject (though I do like the old gent) or the composition, but because I got the shot at all. Every day on my drive to school I pass this home, set back along a winding country road. Throughout the year different blow-up figures are displayed -- a football player, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, you get the idea. The goofiness of the display always catches my eye, and finally I decided I needed to record this month's figure. But how to take the picture? There were no curbs or pull offs and the traffic moved quickly along this curvy road. My solution was to turn off into a side road and hike up the hill, then furtively cut through several lawns and drive ways to reach my objective, reversing the whole process once I got my picture. What we won't do for 365!
And to get in the spirit of the holiday I added some patriotic stickers from Picnik. Can you tell what they are?
I'm guessing the flag in his right hand and the stars on his toes... any others?
I love the trouble that you went to for this picture.... now I don't feel quite such an eejit! Or, perhaps we're all eejits together!
Excellent photo for today -- the 4th of July.
You were certainly a "lady determined " in order to get this photo -- but your efforts yielded great results.
Oh...how I love this story. Yes....365 has turned us into a determined lot of photographers, hasn't it! And, I regret the times I haven't done this for a shot. KUDO's to you!
some days I start my day with the more usual things like tea and toast, but other days, I just follow what sounds good to me at the time. Sometimes, dinner is so good that I can't wait until lunch to eat the leftovers which could come from growing up with my brother and knowing that I had to eat the good leftovers before he got to them.
Good girl, going to all that trouble! I have some places like that where I want so much to take a picture and there is NO place to stop! You did great!
What a trooper you are! I swear I'm so lazy when it comes to my photography. I know exactly what you're talking about -- see something you're dying to shoot, but can't (or if you're me -- won't) take the time. It's also cool that these people take the time to give everyone else something to smile about on holidays :)

You certainly earned this photo after all the trouble you went to :)

Allison, I don't know the horror movie that you mentioned. I only remember that there was a wandering hand in Addams Family:)
