Organic Valencia oranges are back in season, and I couldn't be happier. There is no citrus fruit juicier or sweeter, and they are practically seedless. When I peeled this one for fruit salad, I realized the rind made a wonderful series of curves. What a delicious way to get a photo for this week's theme.
LOVE your idea(s) -- love your idea to use this for a theme-related photo; love your idea to eat an orange, I know what I'm buying at the market tomorrow.
Beautiful detail, and I love the contrast of the yellow/orange peel against the blue background. We just got a couple organic Valencias in our organic veggie delivery, and I can't wait to eat them!
What beautiful complimentary colors you selected to photograph here! I'm with you about thaise summer fruit salads...now's the time! Amazingly, for mine, I've found both passion fruit and mango up here. I love the tropical bursts of flavor. (Maybe because we have so many citrus trees in our California yard, we get our fill during the winter months)
Do you read French? David sent me the recipe for the Avocado soup and translated the ingredients list. Beyond that, it's pretty easy to figure out. It certainly was a taste sensation! Let me know if you'd like it...
No sense in going to that work for *one*... I understand this might not be to everyone's taste. (Amidst the many citrus trees, we also have an avocado tree, so a new recipe was quite to my liking! I will be asking David to translate it a bit more for me!)
