This folk art sculpture is hanging on the wall in my school head's office. I just love the energy and vitality of this trio. When I saw it, I immediately thought of this week's theme. If you have ever tried to jump with 2 ropes twirling at once, you know that Double Dutch is a real challenge.
Hey Allison thanks for your comments, I'm glad you are enjoying our Blog. No this is not a permanent move, but it's pretty flexible. Right now we're thinking we'll be here another year, but it might end up being a little longer.
how creative. About the class room - I got there an hour early. I had an appointment after work and before class - going back home was out of the way. So, I went to class and did some more reading ahead - I'm already on Ch. 3 and we finally discussed Ch. 1 that night.
I love Folk Art, and this is such a creative piece, just made for the wall where it's displayed! Nice to see "teacher involvement" in the art work as well! As it first came up, I thought you'd been creating more art work...this is to let you know that as of today's mail, we're still waiting...no delivery on Sat & Mondays a holiday... Looking forward to your visit :-)
Allison, yes, I knew what a snapper looked like. I've caught several while fishing, and a friend of mine used to fish for snappers to make snapper soup. Their heads are pointed, and their name is what it means. If they grab hold of your finger, good luck getting loose. They have am extremely powerful grip.
This is quite the cheerful piece, and you're right. Double Dutch is something I never managed to figure out, but we had kids visit one of my schools who were amazingly talented at it. So fun to watch!

Rick is clutching a stuffed polar bear that graces our bed - LOL!
Re: comment on false economy. I agree completely. Some things really don't go together or just shouldn't be combined.
