Going out to look for something from nature to photograph, I was struck by the dreadful effects of the drought here in Richmond.Everything is dry and lifeless, and not just from end-of-season fading. The weatherman informed us that our last rain was on Sept. 12 and our last rain of an inch was in March. I'm happy to say that, as I write this, I hear the sound of gentle and steady rain. Praise God.
This was a roundabout way of explaining why I have a photograph of an angel hanging from my patio fence, instead of a picture of a flower or tree.
We have had so much rain in the Midwest, I didn't realize how little you had. We have had so many days of rain, there's still standing water in some of the fields. I'm glad you're hearing rain tonight! Hopefully that will help some. Love this shot, though - angels all around us watching over us - love that idea!
No one complains about the rain after having to wait so patiently for it! (Kathleen, in you region, I think, had a picture of the dry glass and leaves...not so good for all of you!) We won't have rain out here until mid-November, and only then if we're lucky!
This is a very lovely angel -- she looks so pretty guarding your patio. I am so glad you are getting some rain today; we are as well. Here in Maryland we have been dry -- like you all in Virginia; so the rain today looks very beautiful.
