Forest Project

Last Spring artist Dawn Flores (shown on the left in the picture on the far right along with art teacher Holly Smith) came to school to work with our Lower School students as part of her Forest project. Here is a profile from the local paper outlining her life and art: http://tinyurl.com/j89d5pc
When her residence ended, she took the students' work with her and spent the summer creating this quilt inspired by their drawings, paintings, rubbings and poetry. It will be hanging in the library for all to enjoy.
In the morning we will have an official unveiling with all student artists invited. We love to see our library as a gallery for the amazing art of our students.
I'm sure the students are going to enjoy that. As always your library is full of life!

Great collage! What a wonderful piece of art--and to think it's based on the students' work. I continue to be amazed at the creative things happening at your school.
