Collegiate Votes

Our Junior Kindergarten through Fourth Grade classes went to the polls to vote for their own slate of candidates. They went through the whole process of presenting their ID and voting on touch screen tablets. After voting, they each got an "I Voted" sticker. The choices our students had were much less emotionally charged than those of their parents. JK and K students chose between book characters. Second Graders, who have just finished a big Oceanography study, voted for Manatee or Narwhal. In Third Grade they selected between two playground games, and Fourth Graders, students of American history, chose Patriot or Loyalist. Results will be announced tomorrow.
Well a good challenge for them all and they will be much wiser after this!

What a great way to introduce youngsters to the value of voting. I'd like to know those results because the choices were quite fun!
