After reading a picture book to a kindergarten class, I asked the kids, "What is something you can do that might surprise other people?" I got a wide range of answers, like being a good swimmer, doing a somersault, and knowing a lot about spiders, but when this young man said he could make a 4 leaf clover with his tongue, I had to document it. I was astonished at his ability, but even more so by his response when I asked how he learned how to do it.
"My preschool teacher showed us, and I kept trying and trying til I got it right." Now THAT is perseverance!
