First Rose of the Season

When I got home this afternoon, I immediately saw this gorgeous Knock Out rose on the bush by our front door. I stopped everything to take a picture. Ten minutes later, as my husband and I were standing by the kitchen window talking, my husband spotted a neighbor leaning over the very same rose bush. "Hey," John said, "She just cut that rose!" I pulled open the door and said, "What are you doing? Did you cut my rose?" She said, "Do you want it? I do this all the time." I was so nonplussed, I sputtered that, yes I did want it and closed the door sharply. I can't fathom her chutzpah. She had actually walked by me as I was taking the picture and said hello!
All along I had thought she was a good neighbor. Granted there will be plenty more blooms on that bush, but don't you think it was rather astonishing that she thought she was entitled to that flower? We do live in condos so maybe she thought the bushes were for all to enjoy, but that means leaving them alone, not picking the flowers. I am quite disappointed.
That is astounding! How could someone be so mean and selfish? It is such a lovely rose and at least you have the picture of it. Maybe you need to put a little sign next to the rose bush that says, "DO NOT TOUCH!".

Wow! What nerve! I'd be disappointed in her, too. I'm glad you got this shot before she came along. Fav.
BTW, my son had 2 young peach trees in his yard in Napa and a neighbor regularly helped herself to the peaches! That meant he hardly got any....
