This summer our pastor is doing a pulpit exchange with a minister from Scotland. Joel and his family have settled into the home of the family of Rev. Rodolphe Blanchard-Kowal in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and they in turn are staying at the Morgans' home here in Richmond. The Blanchard-Kowal family is originally from France but will be serving at Portlethen Parish Church for three years. The family includes the Rev. Rodolphe, wife Virginie and 3 sons, Paul (15), Louis (13) and Zacharie (4)
They chose to initiate this visit to Virginia after reading about the history of this region. The whole family loves the outdoors and historic locations and they have already explored Jamestown, Virginia and the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. We are all coming up with suggestions to make their stay enjoyable. I think they will have a busy month!
