Saturday I was in charge of taking pictures at a bi-annual luncheon for Delta Kappa Gamma, the organization for women educators that I joined this year. The theme was “Honoring Our Own” and each of the sixteen chapters in the central Virginia district selected one of their company to be acknowledged. The honorees include both working and retired teachers. They are from different disciplines and work with students of different ages, but they all have this in common: They see education as a calling and continue to make a difference in their community. It was a wonderful celebration of these women and the profession in general.
@bkbinthecity I actually had a better shot without that extra chair on the left side, but one of the women had her eyes closed in that one so I went with this one.
