In the Land of the Dinosaurs

This is a Florida sinkhole. It appeared one day in the back yard of the home of DIL Sarah’s parents’ home. It kept growing and after a period of much rain, it looks like a small lake. Perhaps you have read about this phenomenon occurring under roads and houses. I guess they are fortunate it is not close to their home.

The scene looks beautiful, but sinkholes are scary. There was one in Sebring, FL near my parents' home that swallowed most of a house. Glad this one was not near their house.
