All you hamburger haters were mistaken in guessing ground beef. Many correctly thought it was a ceramic piece. Local artist Dana Dumont created this rattle from glazed terra cotta and added bisque pebbles inside to provide a sound when shaken. It is about the size of a baseball and sits on my coffee table. It is one of my favorite pieces because of its constantly changing aspect.
**I KNEW** there was a lot of good work goin' on there! (patting my head in congratulations...) Beautiful! I'm sending the link to my daughter...she used to make similar pieces when she was doing a lot of ceramic work. So glad you shared this! (now aren't you others sorry you couldn't see through to the beauty of it?)
Thank you Louise for your kind words. I love sharing art with friends.I have a whole collection of Dana's ceramics. Maybe sometime in the future I'll post some more of her pieces.
