It is during the heat of July you begin to notice cicada bodies lying dead on the ground. I was thinking about this as part of the don't touch theme but since I had to do a lot of touching to get this body to lie flat , I decided against using that tag. On the other hand, it has some amazing color and I think it is worth a picture on that basis alone.
We arrived with the red hot heat of July
Desiring a day of passion before we die.
Our wings transparent, our eyes bulging
Our bodies purple -- now, don't be judging.
Our songs vibrations fill the air -- you think they will not cease
We are Cicada, may we Rest in Peace.
I love the detail you got in his wings! The ones we get up by us have really creepy red eyes... I'm glad they only come every 7 years! Love Bonnie's poem too!
