Fine Arts and Flowers

John and I went to the Virginia Museum (VMFA) to see the Fine Arts & Flowers exhibition of floral designs inspired by over 70 selected works from the Museum's collections and interpreted by garden club members from across Virginia.
This work is a 1942 oil painting by Steve Wheeler entitled The Halogens, and the flower arrangement was created by Jane Denton of the Kilmarnock Garden Club.

This foral arrangement is awesome. I love the Bird of Paradise.... the other blooms are gorgeous and unique but I don't know their names.
Love your photos of these "pairings" both on this Project and on your Flicker Link.

Some beautiful arrangements. It's amazing how the inspiration varies and they can come up with the ideas they do.

Beautiful artwork - on both counts, well actually three...your photo of both is beautiful too. The exotic flowers are perfectly matched with the painted art!

Excellent stuff Allison :) Really like the way you've chosen your frame in similar tones to the one in your shot.
