"I know an old woman..."

When my parents were newlyweds they had a terrier with a wild streak. One day he got out and disappeared for the afternoon. When he finally returned, he had this carved figure in his mouth. The little old lady and the story behind her became family heirlooms and I inherited them both after my father died. I wish I knew more of her provenance, but no one ever claimed her and Pokey wasn't talking.
There is definitley some nice detail in the carving.

I like the statue, it has a lot of character and is even more interesting with how your family came to have it. It's nice to have an heirloom with a story.

Love it... it has character. And dogs have a wonderful way of bringing home things ...
mine brought a large expensive (cooked) Sunday Roast Beef joint .... I never did discover from whom he stole it!

Love this storey and the figurine with its rustic carving. And @elizabeth your dog sounds a bit of a character who loves his meat. Hope it was cooked to his/her liking. haha
