Part of the culminating program for our Third Graders studying Colonial Virginia, a group of girls mastered the intricacies of the Maypole Dance, weaving in and out while each holds a different ribbon. You can see the completed figure at the top. I for one was quite impressed. I doubt I would have done as well!
Such fun! I danced a maypole dance when I was a child in southern California,. It's just not something that they do around here for May Day. Perhaps because the weather is iffy this time of year. Thanks for posting, allison!
